Leica 35mm Summicron
Lens hoods: 12504 & 12526.
This is a comparison of two available lens hoods to suit the current model Leica 35mm f/2 Summicron ASPH lens.
The round shade (# 12504) has the advantage of being vented, so that you are able to see more through the viewfinder, another nice feature is that the shade can be unscrewed — separating into two halves — which allows you to insert a Series VII (7) filter, this has an advantage over stacking normal E39 filters which may cause vignetting if too many are used at once.
The square shade (# 12526) can be used with a slip on lens cap, whereas the round one cannot, additionally, the round one cannot be reverse mounted allowing a slip on cover, such as the 14033 cap due to the focus tab interfering.
